"Exist.Expire" is the debut LP from Philadelphia's BEARINGS. The LP consists of seven decidedly bummed out jams that sound a good deal like the No Idea bands that not so many people care about, like TRUE NORTH and SMALL BROWN BIKE. When the boys bring it down a few notches, influence from east coast indie bands like RAINER MARIA shines through.
All told, BEARINGS does a fine job in continuing Philadelphia's tradition of producing intense and unpretentious punk rock. The city's flavor is undeniable here, as there are even parts that might draw comparisons to very early LIFETIME. Hmmm... that's a lot of comparisons. Don't even trip, check this band out!
